Wind power plant construction
Construction of wind power plants rated above 30 MW: access roads and pads, foundations, turbine erection,…
Wind power plant construction (WPP) and utility-scale wind farm development drive the modern transition toward clean, renewable energy. Utility-grade wind farms harness the massive kinetic potential of desert, steppe, and high-altitude plateau wind corridors to supply grid-scale green electricity.
A wind farm is built around the logistics of heavy and oversized loads: roads, crane pads and foundations are prepared before towers and blades reach the site. This section matches the licence category — wind power plants rated above 30 MW.
Operating across Tashkent, the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Navoi, Bukhara, and all regions of Uzbekistan, the licensed engineering center GEO PRO executes wind power plant construction with guaranteed geotechnical stability, precision turbine assembly, and full statutory grid interconnection.
Wind farm logistics require specialized transport corridors for super-heavy and oversized components: tower sections exceeding 100 tons and rotor blades extending beyond 70–90 meters. On-site access roads and crane hardstands (crane pads) are engineered to bear 600–1200-ton heavy crawler cranes without ground settlement.
Comprehensive wind power plant construction Uzbekistan guarantees high structural resistance against extreme storm gusts, optimizes project completion schedules, and maximizes the long-term capacity factor (CF) of the wind assets.
When Wind Power Plant Construction Uzbekistan is Required
In line with the renewable energy strategy of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan and statutory ShNK / KMK building regulations, large-scale wind power plant construction is implemented across key development vectors:
- Utility-scale Independent Power Producer (IPP / PPP) wind projects with installed capacities from 100 MW to 1000+ MW;
- Dedicated medium-scale industrial wind farms (10–50 MW) powering isolated mining and industrial operations;
- Hybrid renewable installations combining wind, solar PV, and battery energy storage systems (BESS) for grid balancing;
- Repowering and modernization of operational wind farms by installing next-generation high-yield turbines;
- Construction of 33/110/220/500 kV pooling substations, switchyards, and overhead grid connection lines;
- Installation of certified meteorological met masts (100–160 meters) equipped with LiDAR systems for continuous wind measurement.
What We Do: Turnkey Wind Power Plant Construction Tashkent
The specialized renewable energy engineering team at GEO PRO handles the entire engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) scope:
- preparation of on-site roads, erection pads and temporary works;
- construction of turbine foundations;
- erection of towers, nacelles and blades, and laying of on-site networks;
- commissioning, as-built documentation and handover of the facility;
- engineering internal site haul roads with custom turn radii for specialized blade trailers;
- laying 33–35 kV medium-voltage underground collector cable networks and fiber-optic communication lines;
- construction of central control buildings, step-up substations, and high-voltage transmission lines.
Civil & Mechanical Stages: Wind Turbine Erection and Installation
During every stage of wind power plant construction, our teams strictly adhere to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) assembly tolerances:
- Massive Gravity Base Foundations: Rock excavation, deep piling works, placement of high-tolerance anchor cages, and continuous monolithic pours of 800–1200 $m^3$ high-strength self-compacting concrete;
- Tower Assembly: Segmental erection of steel tubular, concrete, or hybrid tower structures (100 to 160 meters high) with calibrated hydraulic bolt-tensioning;
- Nacelle and Powertrain Hoisting: Heavy-lift installation of the nacelle, gearbox, direct-drive generator, and transformer during tight meteorological wind windows (<8–10 m/s);
- Rotor Assembly and Blade Lifting: Ground pre-assembly of the rotor hub with blades or single-blade lifting operations using specialized hydraulic lifting yokes;
- Electrical Cabling and SCADA: Internal tower power cable routing, switchgear termination, converter setup, and SCADA monitoring network integration.
Geotechnical Quality Assurance and Grid Compliance Testing
Reliable and secure wind power plant construction relies on thermal monitoring during massive concrete hydration to prevent micro-cracking.
GEO PRO certified quality inspectors perform ultrasonic non-destructive testing (NDT) on structural steel welds, anchor cage bolt torque verifications, and very low frequency (VLF) high-voltage cable insulation testing.
Prior to grid energization, individual calibrations of active yaw systems, blade pitch mechanisms, and aerodynamic braking circuits are conducted, culminating in a continuous 72-hour full-load performance trial.
Deliverables: Completed Facility and As-Built Documentation
A completed and accepted facility with a full set of as-built documentation: inspection certificates for concealed works, as-built diagrams, and test and commissioning records.
The client receives a grid-connected wind energy complex ready for commercial dispatch:
- Fully commissioned wind turbine generators (WTGs), access roadways, and service crane pads;
- Turbine units synchronized to the national electrical grid following successful 72-hour trial runs;
- Complete package of certified geodetic surveys and inspection certificates for concealed foundation works;
- Technical passports and warranty dossiers for turbines, towers, generators, and transformers;
- Commissioning protocols for relay protection, grid curtailment systems, and central SCADA dispatch;
- Official State Acceptance Board handover certificate authorizing commercial operation.
Cost Estimation and Turnkey Wind Farm Construction
Project capital expenditure is evaluated based on total plant capacity (MW), hub height and rotor diameter, ground geotechnical parameters, and distance to grid interconnection points. GEO PRO engineers provide fast budget assessments and execution schedules.
