Construction of 0.4–500 kV power lines and substations
Construction of 0.4–500 kV cable and overhead lines and electrical installations: switchgear, substations, distribution and transformer…
Power line construction and high-voltage grid infrastructure development are the backbone of reliable power transmission. They ensure stable delivery and distribution of electrical energy from generation hubs to heavy industrial plants, urban centers, and infrastructure networks.
Network construction combines route works with the installation of electrical equipment and ends in testing: a line or a substation is accepted only against test records. In the licence register this is electrical lines (cable and overhead) and installations (open and indoor switchgear, substations, distribution points, transformer points, switchgear assemblies) rated 0.4–500 kV.
Across Tashkent, the Tashkent Region, and all regions of Uzbekistan, the licensed engineering center GEO PRO delivers turnkey general contracting for overhead and cable line installation Tashkent in strict compliance with national electrical installation codes (PUE) and safety norms.
Grid engineering demands high-precision geodetic alignment of linear routes, foundation reinforcement for heavy lattice towers, and meticulous dielectric testing of high-voltage insulation systems.
Certified power line construction 0.4–500 kV eliminates grid outages, minimizes technical transmission losses, and guarantees complete occupational safety for operational personnel.
When Transmission Line and Substation Construction Uzbekistan is Required
In accordance with the modern power grid expansion programs of JSC “National Electric Grids of Uzbekistan” and statutory ShNK / KMK building codes, large-scale power line construction is required for:
- Evacuating generated power from newly built solar, wind, hydro, and thermal power plants into the unified power grid;
- Powering new heavy industrial plants, mining operations, logistics complexes, and special economic zones;
- Constructing high-voltage backbone transmission lines (HVTL) rated at 110 kV, 220 kV, and 500 kV;
- Modernizing urban and district distribution networks (0.4–10 kV) with insulated conductors (ABC / aerial bundled cables);
- Building step-down distribution and pooling substations (35/10 kV, 110/35/10 kV, and 220/110 kV);
- Rerouting and undergrounding existing overhead or cable alignments intersecting municipal construction zones.
What We Do: Power Line Construction and Grid Infrastructure
The electrical engineering department at GEO PRO handles the complete lifecycle of EPC grid construction:
- route works, erection of supports and laying of cable lines;
- installation of substations, distribution points and transformer points;
- installation of open and indoor switchgear, relay protection and earthing;
- high-voltage testing, as-built documentation and handover of the facility;
- foundation boring, anchoring, and erection of reinforced concrete and steel lattice transmission towers;
- trenchless underground cable laying utilizing horizontal directional drilling (HDD) technologies;
- installation of cold-shrink and heat-shrink joints and terminations on XLPE-insulated power cables.
Technological Scope: Substation and Switchgear Installation
During every phase of power line construction, our certified crews execute high-precision electrotechnical installations:
- Overhead Transmission Lines (OHL 0.4–500 kV): Stringing ACSR conductors, self-supporting insulated cables (ABC), optical ground wires (OPGW), and composite insulator strings;
- Underground Cable Lines (UCL 0.4–110 kV): Laying single-core XLPE power cables in trenches, ducts, concrete galleries, and tunnels with screen cross-bonding systems;
- Transformer Substations (TS / Package Substations): Installing main power transformers, medium-voltage switchgear cubicles (AIS / GIS), and automated fire suppression;
- Open and Indoor Switchgear (AIS, GIS): Assembly of SF6 gas-insulated circuit breakers, disconnectors, instrument current/voltage transformers, and surge arresters;
- Relay Protection and Automation (RPA): Configuration of microprocessor-based protection relays, SCADA telemechanics, and commercial metering systems (AMR / AMI).
High-Voltage Testing and Mobile Electrical Laboratory
Reliable power line construction requires uncompromising verification of dielectric insulation and circuit continuity.
GEO PRO mobile high-voltage testing laboratories conduct very low frequency (VLF) withstand testing on XLPE cables, partial discharge diagnostics, and precision grounding impedance measurements.
Prior to energization, complete vector phase checks, protection relay tripping calibrations, and infrared thermographic inspections of energized contact joints are carried out.
Deliverables: Commissioned Grid Assets and As-Built Documentation
A completed and accepted facility with a full set of as-built documentation: as-built network diagrams, high-voltage test records, earthing resistance measurements and commissioning records.
The client receives fully certified grid assets energized and integrated into the power network:
- Commissioned and energized overhead transmission lines and underground cable feeders;
- Fully equipped substations, distribution switchgear, and step-down transformer points;
- Complete geodetic as-built route plans, longitudinal profiles, and concealed work inspection certificates;
- Official high-voltage laboratory test protocols for cables, transformers, and earthing systems;
- Factory certificates, technical passports, and warranty dossiers for all installed equipment;
- Official energization and operation clearance certificate issued by the State Energy Inspectorate (“Uzenergoinspektsiya”).
Cost Estimation and Turnkey Power Grid Construction
Project capital expenditure is evaluated based on line route length, voltage class (kV), installation methodology (overhead vs. underground), cable cross-section, and civil crossing complexities. GEO PRO engineers provide fast budget assessments and execution schedules.
